Our engineering lead, Eric, is an aerospace engineer who worked on the design of jet and rocket turbine blades before joining Wynd. He used his airflow expertise to craft Wynd’s patent-pending fluid dynamics. We designed a low-turbulence, high-airflow system that keeps Wynd small while enabling it to clean a high volume of air and stay quiet.

Wynd purifies the air in your personal space, a test run in a  640-cubic-foot chamber (comparable to an 8x10ft room) by Research Triangle Institute, showed how Wynd made a difference! Many large and expensive sensors stop working over time because grime and pollutants throw off their mechanisms. To avoid this, Wynd's tracker remains highly accurate over time through calibration and an internal design that protects sensitive components from accumulating dust. Below are the results from the purification testing over time.

Watch Eric discuss how he designed some of Wynd's airflow features.

Mike Nuttall, one of the co-founders of IDEO, brought Wynd to life. He designed numerous beautiful and successful consumer electronic products, so Wynd Technologies knew he’d help in creating a product that’s beautiful and easy to use.

Mike discusses his philosophy behind the design of Wynd.

Wynd contains a medical-grade air filter, capable of purifying particles as small as 0.3um (1 / 210th the average thickness of human hair). The filter is lined with an antimicrobial layer lined with silver to keep it clean from microbes such as bacteria and mold. As air passes through this filter, the particulate pollutants are removed and any residual germs are killed off, and purified air flows out into your environment.
